Who we are
AUXIT ("we", "us", "our") is a real-time multiplayer music-guessing party game available at playauxit.com. The data controller responsible for your personal data is PlayAuxit, operating from Singapore. You can reach us for any privacy question or request at contact@playauxit.com.
This policy covers the AUXIT web app only. It does not cover third-party sites we link to (for example Instagram), or the music streaming services whose search results and previews appear inside the game.
Data we collect
Session & account data. When you open AUXIT, we create an anonymous account for your device so you can host or join a game. No name, email, or password is required. If you choose "Continue with Google" to secure your progress, we additionally receive your Google account's email, name, and avatar image from Google, and store a lifetime "games played" counter linked to that account. Your in-game nickname is entered fresh each game and is never linked to your Google identity in our records.
Gameplay data. Your chosen in-game nickname, avatar icon, song selections, and votes are stored for the duration of a game and are visible to the other players in your game session.
Feedback. If you use the in-app feedback form, we store your message, the category you selected, the game room it relates to (if any), and your account identifier if you were signed in when you sent it.
Gameplay analytics. We record anonymous, room-scoped statistics about rounds played: which song was picked, how long you took to guess, and whether the guess was correct. We use this to understand how the game is used. This data is not linked to your account.
Usage & performance data. We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand aggregate traffic and app performance (page views, device/browser type, load times). This does not use cookies and does not identify you individually.
Data stored on your device. We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember which game room and player you're currently in. This is required for the app to function and is not used for tracking or advertising. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Why we process your data
To provide the game itself (performance of a contract with you); to keep the service secure, understand how it's used, and improve it (our legitimate interest, balanced against your privacy); and, where you choose to link a Google account, on the basis of your consent to that specific action.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of service providers to run AUXIT, each acting as our data processor:
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
International data transfers
We operate from Singapore for a global audience. Our database and authentication infrastructure (Supabase) is hosted on AWS in the ap-southeast-1 (Singapore) region. Our app hosting and analytics (Vercel) may process data in the United States and other countries where Vercel operates. Where required by law, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers outside Singapore and the European Economic Area.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Game session data is generally needed only while a game is active or recently finished; feedback and analytics are kept for a limited period to help us improve the game. You can ask us to delete your data at any time (see "Your rights" below).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. This includes rights under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation and Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@playauxit.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may also contact your local data protection authority. In Singapore that's the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC).
Children
AUXIT is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls on our database. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as AUXIT evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of AUXIT after a change means you accept the updated policy.
